Vincent J. Russo

The Russo Law Group is proud to share that Managing Partner Vincent J. Russo, Esq., was recently honored as Brooklyn Preparatory High School’s 2025 Alumni of the Year. The prestigious award was presented during the school’s Annual Mass & Dinner, which took place on May 15, 2025, offering an inspiring evening of celebration and reflection.

Vincent, an alumnus of the Class of 1971, has built an exceptional career in Elder Law, Estate Planning, and Special Needs Planning over the past 40 years. At the helm of Russo Law Group, he has dedicated his life’s work to advocating for seniors, individuals with disabilities, and their families. His contributions have left an indelible mark on the field, both locally and nationally.

Among his many achievements, Vincent has served as the fifth President and a Founding Member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA). Additionally, he co-founded ElderCounsel, LLC, and the Academy of Special Needs Planners, playing a pivotal role in shaping the resources and support available to families navigating complex legal and financial challenges. His expertise extends beyond the courtroom, as he has actively participated in policy discussions on long-term care and disability rights in both New York and Washington, D.C. His efforts have helped to advance meaningful change in the lives of countless families.

Reflecting on his time at Brooklyn Prep, Vincent often credits the school’s Jesuit philosophy of service and community with shaping his approach to the law and his commitment to service. Receiving the Alumni of the Year Award was a profound honor for him, cementing the connection between his personal values and professional mission.

The Annual Mass & Dinner united alumni from across generations, as well as faculty, students, and community members, in an evening that highlighted the spirit of unity and mutual support fostered at Brooklyn Prep. This year’s event celebrated Vincent’s exceptional accomplishments while also underscoring the values that tie the Brooklyn Prep community together.

By receiving this distinguished award, Vincent joins an elite group of alumni celebrated for their lasting contributions, leadership, and commitment to service.
