Oscar, Grammy, and Golden Globe winner and beloved actor and comedian Robin Williams died yesterday in his home in Northern California at the age of 63. While the cause of death is still under official investigation, law enforcement believed it was a suicide.

The actor and comedian is survived by his wife, Susan Schneider, and three children from prior marriages, Zachary (31 years old), Zelda (25 years old), and Cody (22 years old).

Robin Williams was best known as a manic comedian with brilliant comedic timing and as a powerful dramatic actor. major blockbusters, and powerful dramatic films. His talents knew no bounds and his performances have moved generations to countless tears, both from laughter and emotion.

The amazing thing about Robin Williams’ eclectic talent is that it was boundless. It is almost impossible to think of him as any one character in any one film, or television show, or comedy special. Everyone has their favorite Robin Williams role (mine is Armand Goldman in “The Birdcage”), and if someone doesn’t have a favorite it’s because they cannot decide on just one.

Robin Williams was a true American treasure and he will be missed.
