Please be advised that Medicaid is slowly unwinding from the pandemic.  As of July 1, 2023, Medicaid will no longer be automatically recertifying their services.  Notices are going out for recipients of Medicaid Home Care (Community Medicaid) and Nursing Home Medicaid services.  These notices will require that documentation be submit within a 15–30-day turnaround.

Please note the following:

  • The income allowance for Medicaid Home Care increased on January 1, 2023, to be $1,697 for an individual and $2,288 for a couple.
  • The income allowance for Medicaid Nursing Home recipients remains at $50.
  • Deductions can also be taken for supplemental insurance premium for both Medicaid Nursing Home and Home Care (Community) recipients.

If you or your loved one is on Medicaid Home Care and you are currently funding a Pooled Income Trust, the budget for your spenddown should be recalculated to determine if you still need to be funding the Pooled Income Trust (i.e., if you are over the $1,697)

For those re-certifying for Nursing Home Coverage form LDSS-4411 should be included and completed with your recertification.
